Resilience
I'm incredibly fortunate to live in the mountains of Colorado. In April 2023, our game camera captured images of a new family settling under our shed—a fox family with 8 kits! It took some time to identify them, but we soon discovered that the mother was a rare black fox, a color variant of the traditional red fox, found in Colorado. Despite having a broken paw, this remarkable fox not only gave birth to 8 kits but also proved to be a skillful hunter and an exceptional caregiver. Her resilience and determination are a true inspiration, reminding me of the strength it takes to overcome challenges.
